Yoriko Oki Vancouver email Yoriko 604-688-3047 Yoriko was born in Tokyo Japan. When she moved to Canada and gave up her six-year-long career as an architect, it seemed a natural decision for her to revisit an earlier fascination with textiles. She went through intensive training at Vancouver’s Helen Lefeaux School of Fashion Design for 10 months and graduated in July 1999 with the Best Overall Achievement Award. Two months later, she was hired by the school as Assistant Instructor. Currently, Yoriko operates her weaving and fashion design business from Fibre Art Studio on Granville Island, Vancouver. Her work can be purchased at the studio and the Circle Craft Christmas Market, a fine-craft exhibition held at the Canada Place, Vancouver every November. |
