Lilly Thorne Abbotsford email Lilly 604-854-3401 Since a child, Lilly has been intrigued by the endless possibilities of exploring and transforming textile materials into fascinating creations, manifesting itself in the form of garments and wall hangings. Elements of texture, pattern, depth, surface, movement and embellishment, all combine to create the reality of her inner vision. Lilly draws inspiration from all around her as she absorbs the joyful beauty of nature and the human spirit. Her work has been moving in cycles, forming one giant series, reflecting her travels, memories and personal experiences. Her current work focuses on the surface design of arashi shibori and the photographic images of her world travels. Lilly has achieved certificates from London Institute of City and Guilds in Art & Design, Embroidery and Surface Design. Her award winning work can be found in private collections in Canada, U.S. and Europe. Instructor in surface design and quilting. |
