Lesley Turner Victoria Lesley's blog email Lesley 250-858-1754 Through my work I aim to touch my viewer with the familiar and to lead them to a deeper understanding of what they know intuitively. I combine the universal experiences of interacting with one's environment and with textiles. When I use clothing and domestic textiles, I take advantage of the knowledge and memories of my viewers to evoke a personal connection with my work. I tell stories and express emotions through the use of intense hues, universal symbols and harmonious colour schemes, often pulled from nature. I reinforce the universality of my work by working with abstraction. |
